Measurements in Conota: overview

Measurements can add context to a photo, but they should be used for the purpose they were designed for. A phone-camera measurement is not automatically equivalent to a surveyed or instrument-measured dimension.

Good uses

Add visual dimensions that help another person understand scale or spacing.

Mark approximate dimensions in inspection or documentation photos when the measurement method is suitable.

Before relying on a measurement

Check the measurement method and calibration used by the current app version.

For contractual, fabrication, boundary or safety-critical dimensions, use the required calibrated instrument and project procedure.

Platform differences

Measurement tools can differ between Android and iOS. Confirm the feature on the device you plan to use before standardizing a team workflow around it.
