Add notes to documented photos

A short note can explain why a photo was taken, what changed, or what another person needs to notice.

Write useful notes

  • Keep the first words specific: “north wall crack”, “valve replaced”, or “duct before insulation” is more useful than “issue”.
  • Record facts visible or known at the time. Avoid adding assumptions that could be mistaken for verified information.
  • Use the same terms your team already uses for assets, rooms, chainage, work packages or job numbers.

Keep notes readable

Long paragraphs are harder to read on a photo. If a full explanation is needed, keep the photo note short and use the project report or another system for the longer narrative.

After capture

Conota supports adding notes and other context around the photo workflow. Exact editing options vary by app version and platform.

Tip: test any new setup with one photo before using it across a live project.
