Add GPS location to photos
Conota can use the phone’s location services to include location information with a photo. The available display options can include coordinates, address or related location context depending on platform and settings.
Enable location access
- Allow Conota to use location services in your phone settings.
- On iOS, enable Precise Location when accurate coordinates are important.
- On Android, allow precise location rather than approximate location where the device offers that choice.
Before you capture
Give the phone a moment to obtain a current location, especially after entering a building, leaving a vehicle or moving a long distance.
GPS is usually strongest outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Dense buildings, roofs, tunnels and heavy tree cover can reduce accuracy.
Important limitation
Phone GPS is useful for documentation and site context, but it is not a replacement for survey-grade GNSS equipment when centimetre-level positioning is required.
Tip: test any new setup with one photo before using it across a live project.
